Special Windows- Solutions for Unusual Shapes
--Accenting angles, arches, circles & curves....

Everyone loves Special Windows for their distinctive shapes, dramatic placement and the visual mood they introduce. Hunter Douglas helps you dress the world's most distinctive windows for lasting beauty with great style and practicality.

Architectural Divas: Putting Windows on Stage--
Windows with distinctive shapes and plalcements are dramatic, scene-stealing beauties. Each one is a prima donna with a presence, demanding to be recognized for its stature, angels or curves. Such eye-catching windows insist on being noticed. They cry out to be dressed with style and innovation to enhance your home.

Without window treatments, a breath-taking wall of doors and bays can create concerns for home energy use, family privacy and protection of furnishings from damaging ultraviolet light. Without methods of operating window treatments on skylights and other out-of-reach windows, special windows can quickly lose their glamour.

Turn to Hunter Douglas for options that maximize the look and livability of a home with unique windows. You can flaunt great architectural lines and dress special window shapes with the flair, functionality and attention they deserve.

Where Solutions Begin--
Whether your home has an eighteenth-century arch or a contemporary A-frame window wall, an angled skylight or a curved greenhouse, Hunter Douglas has hundreds of fashion choices. Take a look at some options for transforming an unusual window into a well-dressed accent:

1. Brilliance pleated shades. Pleated shades also offer privacy for angles, arches, circles and specialty shapes. The optional top-down/bottom-up application provides added light control capabilities. Remote systems for lifting shades are available.

2. Duette honeycomb shades. These superior insulators offer solutions for circles, angles, arches and specialty shapes. Duette has top-down/bottom-up options for light control. Many versatile lifting systems are available for large and out-of-reach shades.

3. Heritance hardwood shutters. These shutters offer superb hardwood beauty and craftsmanship for window walls and doors.

4. Latitude arch window treatments. They look like wood but are crafted into a sunburst arch from light and affordable PVC material. The arch has moveable louvers and its color can coordinate with many Hunter Douglas window fashions.

5. Luminette Privacy Sheers. For window walls, French or patio doors, the soft fabric vanes adjust for the widest range of light control possible.

6. Palm Beach shutters. A great option for walls of windows and doors, these stylish shutters offer versatility and durability.

7.Provenance woven wood shades.  These hightly textural shades have an angled top application and are available in a rich assortment of bamboo, reeds, slats and grasses.

8. Silhouette window shadings. Fabric vanes suspended between sheer fabric facings provide light control and privacy. Silhouette is offered in curved and top-sloped applications for arches and angled windows.

9. Vertical blinds. Hunter Douglas offers a curved track that makes our vertical blinds great for bay and rounded windows. Elegant fabric, vinyl and aluminum styles work for angled windows too.

A Touch of Power--
Adjusting immense treatments on a wall of windows or opening shades that are simply out of reach is as easy as pushing a button with Hunter Douglas window products.

1. PowerTilt motorized tilt system. This system easily tilts slats of wood blinds open or closed by remote control. It's a battery-operated wireless system that controls blinds from up to 25 feet and can operate three separate window treatments. PowerTilt is available for Country Wood wood blinds, EverWood and Shaperies blinds.

2. PowerRise. For remote control of our honeycomb shades, turn to this battery-powered system that moves shades up or down at the touch of a button. No wiring is required for PowerRise, so it's easy to install, operate and maintain. It's the perfect solution for hard-to-reach windows dressed with Duette, Luminette, Silhouette and Brilliance treatments. A timer can be programmed to raise or lower shades at desired times, improving energy efficiency.

3. PowerGlide.  Hunter Douglas offers a sleek, hand-held remote control for Luminette Privacy Sheers to open or close the sheers and rotate the fabric vanes. Just point the remote at the wall-mounted satellite eye by the headrail. Simple wiring is required.

4. Motorized Vignette. Remote-control units and switch-control motorized units are available for Vignette window shades. A single remote can operate up to 12 shades.

5. Other options. For Duette honeycomb shades, a variety of switch-control and remote-control systems can operate larger shades covering walls of windows, skylights and sliding glass doors. These include:

EasyRise. This motorized system operates shades up to 130 sq. ft. in size.

Skyrise.  Use Skyrise for rectangular windows, including skylights. Side-by-side mounting of shades allows for coverage of windows measuring more than 48 sq. ft.

Vertiglide. It's the ideal choice for side-to-side opening and closing of treatments over rectangular windows and doors.

Get To the Top...or the Bottom of it!
If you want to preserve a glorious view and your privacy, select a versatile rectangular shade that lowers from the top and raises from the bottom. Top-down/Bottom-up systems are available for Duette honeycomb shades, Brilliance pleated shades, Jubilance roman shades and Provenance woven wood shades.

Arches can be decorated with shades that lower to expand your lighting options. Hunter Douglas also offers Latitudes where a fixed arch treatment is preferred.
